Caroline Garcia v Lulu Sun Head to Head
Garcia and Sun will be facing off for the first time in their careers.
Garcia Hoping Comeback is Stronger
Caroline Garcia last played in 2024 in September, losing to Magdalena Frech at the Guadalajara Open. Following that, she called an end to the tennis season because of a combination of multiple factors including a shoulder injury.
The former world number four did say, however, that she had struggled with her own mindset through most part of the previous season and parts of her career, calling her attitude ‘toxic’
She added she was looking to turn that around by trying to do things her way with finding joy on court being the ultimate goal, possibly instead of hunting for results.
Garcia returned to the courts this season and while she lost in the very first round at the Australian Open to Naomi Osaka it wasn’t before she had taken the Japanese player to the third set.
The French player will now look to register her first win of 2025.

Sun 0-4 for the Season
It has continued to remain winless for Lulu Sun. She has now featured in four matches this season and lost all of them with her latest defeat coming at the hands of Sara Sorribes Tormo in the first round of the Linz Open last week.
Having been in the top 300 at the end of the 2023 season and turned things around in 2024 with two ITF titles and a Wimbledon quarterfinal showing to boot, Sun’s form has taken a big dip this year.
Before the Linz loss, the Kiwi had fallen in the first round at all the tournaments she has featured in – in Auckland, Hobart and the Australian Open.
And making things worse is the manner in which she lost to Sorribes Tormo, going down 6-3, 6-3.
Can she turn things around here?
