Gracheva in Her Own Struggles
Varvara Gracheva has featured in just two tournaments so far in January and returns to action after her second round loss at the Australian Open.
That defeat, coming on the back of an opening loss to Magda Linette at the Hobart International,, came at the hands of the lucky loser Eva Lys. Lys could go on to make the fourth round in the end.
This follows a similar end to the previous season as well for Gracheva, where she managed to make the second round of competitions but couldn’t go too much further on a regular basis.
Once ranked 39th in the world, Gracheva will hope she can turn things around against a player who has had form issues too.
