Mattia Bellucci v Mees Rottgering Head to Head
This will be the first meeting between Bellucci and Rottgering.
Bellucci Easy Winner in the Qualifiers
Mattia Bellucci had finished the 2023 season ranked 177th in the world and was on the verge of breaking into the top 100 by the end of the following season.
He has done that now, starting off ranked 98th here and while he hasn’t quite had too much to boast by the way of results, Bellucci did make it to the second round last week in Montpellier.
The Italian 23-year-old defeated Lucas Pouille in the first round there before falling to Aleksandar Kovacevic in the second.
And that confidence has translated into some sort of a momentum with Bellucci coasting through two qualifiers here to enter another main draw. He defeated Thijs Boogaard and Gijs Brouwer to seal his place in the first round and now has the fortune of playing someone whose career-best ranking has been 800th.

Rottgering in Main Draw Debut
He is just 17 and has never played in an ATP tournament before. Which is why, the result itself might not matter too much for Mees Röttgering but he sure would like to put up a fighting display.
Ranked outside the 800 right now, Röttgering became the only player his age last year to break into the top 1000 on the rankings chart.
His credentials include a juniors final appearance at the Wimbledon boys singles just last year, having earlier also made the final of an ITF tournament in February 2024.
Röttgering has begun this season with three ITF Futures competitions under his belt already and while he was ousted in the first round at the first, there was a quarterfinal appearance at one of them.
Bellucci v Rottgering Prediction
If Bellucci doesn’t get complacent there is no doubting he should win this in two and at 4/11 that isn’t too bad a bet. The other safe-ish option could be to go with the games market as mentioned below.
Bellucci v Rottgering Tips
- Bellucci to win in straight sets: 4/11
- Over 17.5 games in the match: 4/9
