Alexander Bublik v Jakub Mensik Head to Head
Alexander Bublik has won their only previous outing which came at the 2024 Wimbledon. The match went on for five sets and Bublik came back from two sets to love down to win it.
Bublik Struggling to Find Form
When Alexander Bublik defeated Dominik Koepfer in the second round of the Montpellier Open last week – following a first round bye – he would have felt a bit of relief.
It was a straightforward win that had followed two crushing defeats at the hands of Miomir Kecmanovic and Francisco Cerundolo (in Adelaide and at the Australian Open).
Just one round later, Bublik was dumped out of the tournament when Aleksandar Kovacevic crushed him 6-3, 6-2 to make the semifinals.
Bublik was the defending champion in Montpellier and then had made the final at the ATP Dubai in late February last year. From that point onward, however, he featured in 19 tournaments and won two successive matches in only three of them.
That form has spilled over to 2025.

Mensik at Career-Best
Jakub Mensik was ranked 167th on the ATP charts at the end of the 2023 season. A solid year later in which he made the final of the ATP Doha and was the semifinalist in Umag,, Mensik had broken into the top 50.
And he now stands at 46th in the tennis world, his career-best ranking following a solid start to the 2025 season as well.
The Czech 19-year-old has featured in three tournaments this season and won successive matches at each of them before losing the third.
One of his best showing came in Auckland where he defeated Ben Shelton while he has also gotten past Casper Ruud at the Australian Open.
And now he faces a struggling Bublik which gives him a good chance to win another opening round in a tournament.
