Shelton Wins Easily against Vukic
A semifinalist at the Australian Open, Ben Shelton made a winning return to tennis when he toppled Aleksandar Vukic in the first round in Dallas.
Shelton needed just 64 minutes to get past Vukic, winning 6-3, 6-3.
At no point during the match did Shelton face any trouble and he lost just three points on his first serve and a total of 12. Shelton was never down a break-point either while getting past Vukic’s serve on three occasions.
Shelton had made the semifinal at this competition last year and will hope to defend those points by winning these next couple of matches. He has already jumped up to a career-best ranking of 13th in the world and breaking into the top 10 will be his next goal.

Munar Goes Past Bu
We had made a mention in our Jaume Munar v Yunchaokete Bu preview that the Spaniard is more known for his performances on clay, he has done enough in recent times to suggest he is a much improved player outside of that surface too.
So while Munar had gone into his opener as a 6/4 underdog, we had no hesitation in backing him for a win and that’s exactly how it panned out.
Munar had his challenges but he came through in straight sets, winning 7-5, 6-2 to clinch a place in the second round. This followed his semifinal appearance at the Hong Kong Open earlier this year.
In a match lasting nearly two hours, Munar broke Bu four times in the encounter, including late in the opening set when his opponent served to stay in the encounter.
His next one will be a lot tougher encounter and while Munar’s a much-improved player as already discussed, Shelton is a different kettle of fish.
