Carlos Alcaraz v Hubert Hurkacz Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two players and Alcaraz has won every single time.
These have been tough results though. Alcaraz needed two tie-breakers to get past Hurkacz at the 2022 Miami Masters, another two in Toronto in 2023 before a three-setter decided their fate in Cincinnati that very year.
Alcaraz in Another Easy Win over Martinez
Pedro Martinez would have come into his quarterfinal against Carlos Alcaraz knowing he was up against it but with a win over Holger Rune under his belt, there would have been traces of confidence too.
Unfortunately for him, Alcaraz has the kind of quality that is difficult to surmount for most players and Martinez encountered that first hand.
In a match that went on for 72 minutes, Alcaraz coasted to a 6-2, 6-1 victory – the same scoreline by which he had defeated Andrea Vavassori in the previous round – and marched into the semifinals.
Alcaraz, who does not have a single indoor hardcourt title under his belt, served up seven aces and broke his opponent five times even as he did not face a single break-point in the encounter. He won 21 of his 23 first serve points as well.
Things could slightly tougher for him against Hubert Hurkacz but Alcaraz looks quite settled at the moment.

Hurkacz in a Hard-Fought Win over Rublev
Andrey Rublev’s form this season has been patchy but when he made it to the quarterfinals here it did look like he was getting some of his rhythm back.
The fight was there and one could see some fire in the belly too when he took to court for his last eight encounter with Hubert Hurkacz.
While Hurkacz staved off a break of serve in the first set and took it to a tie-breaker, Rublev pocketed it off the first set-point he got to get into the lead.
Hurkacz, who had overpowered Flavio Cobolli in the first round and then made it past an injured Jiri Lehecka in the second, came back with some better serving in the second set. It wasn’t until the eighth game that he found a way past his opponent’s serve and then served out the set in the ninth.
The final set turned out to be a cagey affair as well, with Hurkacz breaking in the seventh game – the only one in which he had the chance to do so. In turn, the only game in which he faced any break-points was in the eighth but he held on before clinching the match in the 10th.
Alcaraz v Hurkacz Prediction
These two have had a one-sided rivalry when one looks at the final scoreline but the matches have been quite close. Hurkacz, however, is no longer the player he was two years ago.
While we expect Alcaraz to grab this match, even in two sets at that, Hurkacz could put up some fight in one of them.
