Amanda Anisimova v Victoria Azarenka Head to Head
Their previous two meetings came in Madrid 2022 and Dubai 2023 with Anisimova winning at the former and Azarenka at the latter.
Underwhelming Start for Anisimova
Amanda Anisimova would be aspiring to be a top 20 player at some stage in her career but she hasn’t had the kind of start to the season that would get her close to that.
It started with a first round exit in the first tournament she played this year, losing to Alycia Parks in Auckland.
A couple of wins over Anna Bondar and Daria Saville took her to the quarterfinals of the Hobart International where she was forced to give her opponent a walkover because of fitness concerns.
And while she did make it through to the Australian Open, even easily winning her opener against Maria Carle Lourdes, Anisimova lost to Emma Raducanu in the second round.
She will have her work cut out when she takes to court against Azarenka.

Azarenka 1-2 for the Season
Having kick-started her season at the Brisbane International, Azarenka required a tough three-setter to get her rhythm going and she defeated Maya Joint in the opener doing so.
From there on, however, Azarenka has played two matches and lost both.
She went down to Marie Bouzkova in the second round in Brisbane and then crashed in the Australian Open opener, losing to a whopping 13/5 underdog in Lucia Bronzetti there.
A quarterfinalist in this competition last time, Azarenka will need to do a lot better than she has so far this season if she wants to match up to her showing from the previous season.
And while Anisimova’s form itself isn’t too great, Azarenka will know she is in for a challenging opener.
Anisimova v Azarenka Prediction
The odds say it all. Both players are around 10/11 to win this and that is right what we believe too – not much between the two players for one but given the lack of tennis played, it’s tough to gauge their hitting form too.
