Alexander Zverev v Dusan Lajovic Preview
Head-to-Head: There have been four previous meetings between these two and Zverev has won all four. All these matches came in the 2018-2021 period with two of those matches coming in the French Open, one at the Australian Open and their latest in Paris.
Alexander Zverev will enter this tournament following his brilliant run at the Australian Open in which he made the final. While he would be a touch upset not to have gotten himself a title, his first major, Zverev is a guy who looks to move on quickly from there.
And move on he will have to as he features on this clay court competition with a first round bye coming his way. In the second round he takes on Dusan Lajovic, a player ranked 81st in the world.
Lajovic was involved in a hard-fought encounter against Roberto Carballes Baena and despite starting a 7/5 underdog he came through to win just his second match of the season.
The Serb was on court for two hours and 23 minutes, frittered away three set-points in the first set and a match-point in the second before he clinched the win.
It could get that much tougher against Zverev in round two.
Zverev v Lajovic prediction: Zverev to win in straight sets: 1/4

Francisco Cerundolo v Juan Manuel Cerundolo Preview
Head-to-Head: The Cerundolo brothers will be meeting for the first time at this level but in their previous two matches on the lower circuit, Francisco has won both.
Francisco Cerundolo hadn’t had the best time starting the season, losing his opener in Auckland and then making the third round at the Australian Open but falling to Alex de Minaur rather easily in that match.
Which is why a shift over to clay might have made sense for Francisco, given how much he likes playing on that surface. Two of his three ATP level titles have come on it to go with 12 of his 13 lower-level titles.
In the first round here, Francisco overcame Luciano Darderi 6-4, 6-4 which set up a meeting with his brother Juan Manuel for the first time at this level.
Juan Manuel Cerundolo needed to come through the qualifiers to make the main draw, and in the first round, he was involved in a thrill-a-minute with Andres Burruchaga Roman.
It took Juan Manuel three hours and 31 minutes to complete the victory, beating Burruchaga Roman 7-6 (4), 5-7, 7-5 to enter round two. Both players lost their serve five times with the tie-breaker in the opening set proving to be the difference.
Francisco should start a huge favourite here.
F Cerundolo v JM Cerundolo prediction: Francisco Cerundolo to win: 3/10
