Following a fourth round appearance at the Australian Open, Holger Rune’s only ATP appearance came at the Rotterdam Open last week.

He will hope to get going on clay and having had nearly a week off from his last time on court, Rune shouldn’t have a lot off issues adjusting to the time zone or recovering from exhaustion due to the travel.

Navone in an Easy Win over Comesana
Mariano Navone’s only win on the ATP circuit before this tournament had come at the Auckland Open where he had scraped past an equally struggling Adrian Mannarino in the first.
The Argentine had also featured in Argentina’s Davis Cup tie against Norway and pulled off a win over the 455th-ranked Nicolai Budkov Kjaer but not before Casper Ruud had eased past him in a previous match.
Which is why a shift over to clay would have given Navone a bit of a relief and that showed in his opening round performance against Francisco Comesana.
In a match lasting an hour and 40 minutes, Navone produced a 6-4, 6-4 win against Comesana to make the second round of this competition for the first time in his career.
He will be the obvious second favourite but will know that Rune himself isn’t coming off any great run of form.
