Marcos Giron v Miomir Kecmanovic Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two players of which two were played in the qualifiers of the events.
Giron leads 2-1 with both his wins coming in those qualifiers – at the 2019 Indian Wells Open and 2024 Paris Masters. Kecmanovic’s sole win came at this very tournament in 2023.
Giron Overpowers Quinn
In what was his sixth win of the season to go with a mere two defeats, Marcos Giron sealed his quarterfinal berth with a 6-3, 6-4 result over Ethan Quinn.
Following on from a first round bye, Giron gave a master exhibition on how to serve as he won 23 of his 24 first serve points. He did not face a single break-point in the process while breaking Quinn three times from the seven chances he got.
A quarterfinalist at the Auckland Open to kick-start the season, Giron had then made the third round at the Australian Open as well. He has now made it two successive wins again if you add his victory at the Davis Cup two weeks ago.
Giron will be aiming for his third straight win, something he had last achieved at the Antwerp last year.

Kecmanovic Benefits from Nishioka Walkover
Miomir Kecmanovic helped himself to a place in the quarterfinal after his second round opponent, Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka was forced to withdraw from their match with a left shoulder injury.
This followed a 6-4, 6-4 win for Kecmanovic in the first round over Borna Gojo which means that the Serb was 8-5 on win-loss this season before the Nishioka encounter.
It remains at that for now but he sure looks red-hot in form having also entered the third round at the Australian Open and the semifinal at the Adelaide International with wins over the likes of Alexander Bublik and Hubert Hurkacz.
Can the 2023 Delray Beach finalist now take that step forward towards his best performance in this competition?
Giron v Kecmanovic Prediction
We think both players enter this match with a certain amount of confidence but Giron is more proficient in hardcourt competitions than his opponent despite Kecmanovic’s record this season. Going with Giron to edge this.
Giron v Kecmanovic Tips
