Lorenzo Musetti v Pedro Martinez Head to Head
Musetti and Martinez have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Musetti in an Easy Win over Moutet
Following a first round bye, Lorenzo Musetti began his clay court campaign for the season with a resounding win in his second encounter against Corentin Moutet.
In a match lasting an hour and 31 minutes, Musetti sealed off his spot in the quarterfinal with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Moutet.
The 16th-ranked player, who had made the quarterfinal of this event in his only previous appearance here, saved all four break-points he faced while getting the better of his opponent’s serve three times in the encounter.
This follows a quarterfinal appearance at the Hong Kong Open and a third round exit at the Australian Open for Musetti in the only previous two tournaments he’s played this year so far.
He now faces a clay-court specialist in the form of Pedro Martinez.

Martinez Ends Schwartzman’s Journey
While Diego Schwartzman had shocked the tennis world by extending his career following a win over Nicolas Jarry, Pedro Martinez gave him no such leeway.
In just an hour and 20 minutes Martinez was able to secure a 6-2, 6-2 win over the Argentinian veteran, sending him into his retirement in the end.
Martinez got the better of Schwartzman’s serve on five occasions and the only time he dropped his own was when he served to bagel his opponent in the opening set.
This follows an opening round win over Damir Dzumhur against whom Martinez had lost the first set to love. Earlier in the season, Martinez had won back to back rounds in Rotterdam to make the quarterfinals.
Can Martinez now pull off this upset against a player ranked 25 spots above him?
