Alex Michelsen v Miomir Kecmanovic Head to Head
Michelse and Kecmanovic have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Michelsen Goes Past Norrie
Having earned a first round bye and then having benefitted from Michael Mmoh’s injury in the second round, Alex Michelsen finally played a full match in the tournament.
And while it did not go into the third set, Michelsen was on court for an hour and 39 minutes before he overcame Cameron Norrie in his quarterfinal.
Michselsen served like a champion throughout the match, winning 80% of his first serve points and saving all the three break-points he faced.
Even better was the fact he earned just one break-point – it came in the penultimate game of the match – and grabbed it, breaking Norrie before serving it out to clinch the encounter.
This wins comes on the back of a defeat at the hands of the same player in Dallas last week.
He will now look to make it three wins in a row in this tournament like he had done at the Australian Open last month.

Kecmanovic Thwarts Giron in Tough Quarterfinal
Miomir Kecmanovic wasn’t quite the favourite coming into his quarterfinal against Marcos Giron and for a set and change, it looked like that too.
He had lost the first set and missed a chance to get a break in the second and with Giron serving to make it 3-2.
At this point, a switch seemed to have flicked in Kecmanovic as he converted a break-point, saved one of his own and won the set to level things out.
And in the third, Kecmanovic broke Giron twice to grab what looked like an unwinnable match the way he had started earlier.
Kecmanovic had earlier overcome Borna Gojo in the first round before Yoshihito Nishioka withdrew from their second round encounter to allow the Serb to pass through to the last eight stage.
This will be Kecmanovic’s second semifinal for the season following his appearance there in Adelaide last month.
Michelsen v Kecmanovic Prediction
Michelsen will have the home support and the game on hardcourt to hold the edge but Kecmanovic has done enough this year to suggest he is no pushover. Backing a keen tussle that could even go to the third set.
Michelsen v Kecmanovic Tips
- Michselsen to win: 4/6
- Three sets in the match: 6/5
