Alex de Minaur v Roman Safiullin Head to Head
De Minaur and Safiullin have never faced off before this.
de Minaur 11-2 after Rotterdam Final Appearance
It’s been the kind of start that Alex de Minaur would have loved to have had after broken into the top 10 last season.
The Aussie has lost just two of the 13 matches he has played so far and those defeats have come at the hands of Jannik Sinner at the Australian Open and more recently to Carlos Alcaraz at the Rotterdam Open final.
The latter was in a hard-fought match too with de Minaur finding a way to scoop up a set off Alcaraz before the Spaniard came back to win the third and with that, clinch the match.
De Minaur will now kick-start his campaign in Doha where he will be making his debut and plays an opponent has had a 2025 in a sharp contrast to him.

Safiullin 0-3 for the Season
Roman Safiullin had come into the 2024 season ranked 39th in the world.
12 months on, he ended the year at 60th and now, about a month and a half into the year he has slid further down to 71st.
And that’s down to the kind of start he has had to 2025 whereby he has featured in three tournaments and lost his openers at each one of them.
Safiullin lost to Fabian Marozsan in the first round of the Hong Kong Open – following which Marozsan had gone on to beat Andrey Rublev in the second – and then he fell to a defeat to Manuel Guinard in his Adelaide opener.
With no form or confidence under his belt at the Australian Open, Safiullin was sent packing in four sets by Thanasi Kokkinakis in the first round there.
Unfortunately for Safiullin he will now be up against one of the most consistent players of the season so far and it looks highly unlikely he would be improving his win-loss record any time soon.
de Minaur v Safiullin Prediction
A straight-set win for de Minaur looks the most likely result for this.
de Minaur v Safiullin Tips
