Clara Tauson v Linda Noskova Head to Head
They have faced off just one time before this and that came as recently as the 2025 Australian Open in which Tauson needed three sets to get past Noskova.
Tauson Stuns Sabalenka
Not too many would have Clara Tauson too much of a chance against the world number one Aryna Sabalenka. The odds said so too and the fact that Sabalenka had eased past Tauson in the Australian Open was enough of an indicator of what might follow here.
The match was over in an hour and 24 minutes as one would have expected too but the result was a shocker.
Tauson clinched the win 6-3, 6-2 to move into the quarterfinal, leaving Sabalenka flummoxed about the way things have gone since the time she had made the Australian Open final.
This was also Tauson’s first top-10 victory in nearly three years, following on from wins over Rebecca Sramkova and Elina Svitolina in the previous two rounds.
She will look to complete a repeat of what had transpired in the Australian Open last month.

Noskova Sends Pegula to the Exit Doors
For the first three tournaments this season, Linda Noskova had garnered a total of one win only.
Over the next three, all of which have come in the Middle East, she has made the semifinals, third round and quarterfinal – the last of which happened with a stunning win over Jessica Pegula on Wednesday.
Noskova, who had overcome Yulia Putintseva and Diana Shnaider in the first two rounds of this competition, overcame the 8/11 underdog Pegula 6-3, 7-6 (8) to enter the last eight stage.
In a match lasting an hour and 35 minutes, Noskova broke Pegula in the very first game of the match before wrapping it up.
She went 4-2 up in the second set too but was forced into a tie-breaker in which she saved two set-points before clinching the win off her second match-point.
Tauson v Noskova Prediction
Tauson might hold the edge in this one but it could turn out to be a ripper of a match as two, relatively lower-ranked players aim for a rare semifinal appearance in a WTA 1000 event. As a result we could see a third set in this.
