Daniil Medvedev v Felix Auger-Aliassime Head to Head
This is a woefully one-sided rivalry with Medvedev leading 7-1 on head to head. Auger-Aliassime’s only win came in their previous meeting that was their only match on clay at the Paris Olympics.
They had faced off in Doha in 2023 where Medvedev had won in straight sets and then at the 2024 Australian Open again for the same result.
Medvedev Routs Bergs
It did not take Daniil Medvedev too long to get rid of Zizou Bergs in the second round of the competition.
Coming into the encounter on the back of a hard-fought, comeback-from-behind victory in the first round over Karen Khachanov, Medvedev needed a better showing next. And he found it with a 57-minute rout of Bergs.
Medvedev won 6-2, 6-1 in a match where he faced no break-points and got the better of his opponent’s serve on five occasions.
It’s not been a great start to the season for Medvedev with the Russian having lost in the second round at both, the Australian Open and Rotterdam Open.
He had gone one better in Marseille before falling to Hamad Medjedovic and he will now hope he can make the semifinals here.

Auger-Aliassime Benefits from Medjedovic’s Withdrawal
Towards the end of his first round match against Stefanos Tsitsipas, Hamad Medjedovic had looked like he had done his groin. While he still managed to limp past Tsitsipas, Medjedovic was forced to withdraw from the competition before his second round encounter against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Auger-Aliassime would welcome the break he would have got before this all-important quarterfinal against Medvedev given how long he had been on court for his opener too.
The Canadian was forced to come back from being a set down against Quentin Halys to win in three with the final set going to the tie-breaker.
With a couple of titles under his belt already this season and having beaten players of the calibre of Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul and Sebastian Korda already this season, Auger-Aliassime will be reasonably confident going into this one.
Medvedev v Auger-Aliassime Prediction
While Medvedev’s form has been dodgy coming into this tournament, one look at their head to head (check the section above) and you know it’s never going to be easy for Auger-Aliassime. Will he look to put up a fight, we think so but in the end, Medvedev should still come through.
