Mirra Andreeva v Clara Tauson Head to Head
Andreeva and Tauson have never faced off before this.
Andreeva Overpowers Rybakina
It took Mirra Andreeva two hours and 16 minutes but she found a way to get the resurgent Elena Rybakina and make it to the final.
A winner at the Iasi Open last year, Andreeva entered her first WTA 1000 final in her rather short career, winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in an encounter filled with break-points.
Andreeva, herself, faced 13 of them and was broken three times including once in every set but she found a way to wriggle out of trouble every single time.
In fact, her biggest issue came in the final set in which Rybakina went 3-1 up but Andreeva played with the kind of maturity rarely seen at her age as she ran off to win the next five games in a row.
This win follows four successive victories in straight sets for Andreeva which included one over Iga Swiatek in the quarterfinals.
Andreeva could break into the top 10 for the first time if she goes on to win this match. That should be motivation enough for the Russian.

Tauson Makes it Four Shocks in a Row
Clara Tauson had gone into her opener against Rebecca Sramkova as a favourite and duly won in straight sets.
Since then, Tauson has featured in four successive matches in which she has started off a second favourite – against Elina Svitolina, world number one Aryna Sabalenka, Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova – and grabbed a win against each one of them.
In the semifinals, she was put to the sword by the highly talented Muchova, but prevailed over opponent in three brutal sets.
The match lasted a few minutes short of three hours before Tauson completed a 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-3 win over Muchova as she saved seven of the nine break-points she faced.
It’s been a great year for Tauson so far who had first announced herself to the world in 2021 with two WTA titles. And there was a third final that year she lost in to Donna Vekic.
Since then Tauson hadn’t done too much of note till she reached the final in Auckland earlier this year before winning it. And she now has a chance to double her season’s title count too.
Andreeva v Tauson Prediction
This looks to be a tough battle in the offing and we could very easily see a third set in the contest. Backing Andreeva to clinch it in the end.
