Andrey Rublev v Jack DraperHead to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two players and Rublev has won every single time.
It started with back to back wins for Rublev in 2022 at Madrid and Washington before clinching a third in 2023 at the US Open.
Rublev Ends Auger-Aliassime’s Journey
It took Andrey Rublev two hours and 46 minutes and a final set tie-breaker but he managed to end Felix Auger-Aliassime’s campaign to win his third title for the season.
Rublev endured 21 aces in the encounter and managed just one break of serve in the encounter but still clinched a place in the final in a cagey encounter.
He won 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (5) to enter his first final of the year, also his first since he had made it all the way there in Montreal last year.
Having entered this competition with a 4-4 win-loss record for the year and opening round exits in Hong Kong and at the Australian Open, Rublev had defeated Alexander Bublik, Nuno Borges and Alex de Minaur to enter the semifinal.
His journey to this title-decider has been anything but straightforward but the good news is that Rublev has found a way to overcome his early season form slump.

Draper Overcomes Spirited Lehecka
Jiri Lehecka seemed like he was enjoying playing on these slower hardcourt surfaces and that had showed in his quarterfinal win over Carlos Alcaraz.
In the semifinal too, he looked to have started off well by grabbing the first set but Jack Draper slowly clawed back into the contest and held on to his end.
The second set tie-breaker went Draper’s way and the gulf between their performances began to grow as the third set progressed. Draper had a chance to break Lehecka in the first and third games of the decider and while his opponent saved those break-points both times, he came back to do that in the seventh game.
And once that had happened, Draper broke Lehecka yet again in the ninth to seal off a 3-6, 7-6 (2), 6-3 victory.
This followed a fourth round appearance at the Australian Open which was his first competition of the season. Draper then went on defeat Alexei Popyrin, Christopher O’Connell and Matteo Berrettini in his previous rounds here.
Rublev v Draper Prediction
Rublev’s experience of playing in the finals at this level makes him our pick here, although that just means we are going against the bookmakers who have Draper starting out as a 4/5 favourite in this encounter.
