What Has Draper Done So Far This Season?
Draper became the toast of a nation and of the tennis world as a world when he overcame Joao Fonseca, Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton and Carlos Alcaraz on his way to the final of the Indian Wells Masters. There he routed Holger Rune to lift his maiden ATP 1000 Masters trophy.
Earlier in the season, Draper had made the fourth round at the Australian Open but suffered a hip injury and was forced to retire from that match against Alcaraz. He returned a month later in Doha where made the final before losing to Andrey Rublev.
Unfortunately for Draper, he failed to live up to the expectations at the Miami Masters where he had a first round bye but lost in the second round to Jakub Mensik. At the Monte-Carlo Masters he made the third round but then lost to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
What Has Draper Done in His Career?
2025 has been an excellent season for Draper but it was in 2024 that Draper first caught the eyes of fans when he won two ATP titles – one on the grass courts of Stuttgart and then at the indoor hardcourt competition in Vienna.
These were the first two tournament victories in his career having earlier won five Challenger tournaments between 2022 and 2023 to jump from outside the top 300 at the end of the 2020 season to start the 2024 season ranked 61st in the world.
Other than his title win at the Indian Wells Masters of 2025, Draper has also made the quarterfinals at the Canadian Open in 2022 and Cincinnati Masters the following year. His best performance at a Grand Slam came at the 2024 US Open where he made the semifinal.
