What Has Fonseca Done So Far This Season?
Fonseca kick-started the season with a title win at the Canberra Challenger and then made it through the qualifiers to enter the second round at the Australian Open.
He would then go on to win his first ever tour-level title when he grabbed the Argentina Open, beating Francisco Cerundolo in the final. A first round loss at Rio and a second round defeat at the Indian Wells Masters followed soon after as Jack Draper crushed him at the latter.
The Brazilian then came back with the best possible preparation for the Miami Masters as he clinched the Phoenix Challenger tournament win. However, he lost in the third round in Miami to Alex de Minaur.
What Has Fonseca Done in His Career?
Having become a junior number one in 2023, Fonseca kick-started his senior career the following year and won his first ever match at the highest level in Rio when he defeated Arthur Fils in the opening round.
He would make the quarterfinals there and then add another quarterfinal appearance at the Bucharest Open. A title victory at the Lexington Challenger helped him further his rankings before he ended the 2024 season with a title win at the Next Gen Finals where he defeated Learner Tien twice.
