What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the United Cup?

Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber combined to help Germany defeat Poland in the final of the 2024 edition of the United Cup to win their first title.

In the final, Iga Swiatek look to have given Poland a healthy start when she routed Kerber in the women’s singles final but Zverev edged out Hubert Hurkacz in a tough second match. Germany eked out the contest when they won the mixed doubles match.

This was after Germany had overcome Australia 2-1 and Poland defeated France 3-0 in their respective semifinals.

Defending champions USA failed to make it past the group stages despite finishing level on wins with Australia and Great Britain in their group.

Novak Djokovic-led Serbia made the quarterfinal but Alex de Minaur’s straight-set win over Djokovic helped Australia defeat them and make the semifinals.
