US Open Betting Tips, Picks, Predictions & Odds for the 2025 Edition

Get all the free men’s and women’s US Open betting tips, predictions and picks along with their latest odds for the 2025 edition of the tournament which will be held in August-September this year.

Played for the first time in the late 19th century, the US Open is currently the fourth and the final Grand Slam, or tennis major of the tennis calendar. In 2025, its 145th edition will be played with the tournament having seen grass and clay used as its surface in the past.

Since 1978, the US Open is played on hardcourt surfaces.

128 players compete in the men’s and women’s singles draw apiece but that’s not where the tournament ends. Some of the other events include:

  • Men’s & Women’s Doubles
  • Mixed Doubles
  • Wheelchair’s Quad, Men’s and Women’s Singles
  • Wheelchair Quad, Men’s & Women’s Doubles
  • Boys’ & Girls’ Singles & Doubles
  • Wheelchair Boys’ & Girls’ Singles & Doubles

Like with other Grand Slams, 2000 points are awarded to the singles and doubles winners. Jimmy Connors, Pete Sampras and Roger Federer have all won five men’s singles titles while Chris Evert and Serena Williams have grabbed six – the most in the Open Era.

All of Federer’s titles at the US Open came in succession.

With a capacity of 23,771, the main stadium at the US Open is Arthur Ashe Stadium – the biggest capacity in terms of number of fans.

US Open 2025 Tournament Preview

This will be updated closer to the start of the 2025 edition of the US Open. Here’s how things were expected to go in the lead-up to the 2024 edition.

It’s the fourth and the final Grand Slam of the season and not often can you think of a player like Novak Djokovic entering this state of the year without a major win under his belt for the year.

Djokovic does have an Olympics singles gold to his name, sure, but coming into this US Open he will need to dig really deep to weather some of the storm caused by the younger lot. While ATP’s recent revelations regarding Jannik Sinner’s failed drug tests caused a media stir, the bigger aspect of it is whether it affects him mentally in any way.

Carlos Alcaraz is the only other real men’s title contender and by the looks of things he could make it three majors in a row. Or at least that’s what the bookmakers reckon.

The women’s singles event might just be a little more evenly placed.

With Iga Swiatek having failed to win the Olympics gold on her favourite surface and then losing to Aryna Sabalenka in Cincinnati, the onus is on the latter to take home on another title.

The good news for Sabalenka is that her other nearest rival and defending champion Cori Gauff is no real form. What could be a challenge, however, is Jessica Pegula who has returned to take her best foot forward but at the same time hasn’t done as well in the majors as the others.

And then there’s always that unpredictability factor in women’s tennis.

Like was the case when Barbora Krejcikova won Wimbledon 2024. Or when Jasmine Paolini made two finals at majors this year.

Can we see a different winner?

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of US Open?

Jannik Sinner overcame Taylor Fritz and Aryna Sabalena powered past Jessica Pegula to win the men’s and women’s singles title at the 2024 edition of the US Open. That made it six different winners in both, the men’s and women’s singles competitions over the last six years at the US Open!

The men’s singles competition at the 2024 US Open sprung up a couple of early surprises. Both the top favourites, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz were knocked out of the tournament in the very first week, leaving Sinner a bit of an open draw to make it through.

The Italian had had some fitness concerns in recent times and there had been off-court issues surrounding him too but he eased through to the quarterfinal where he met Daniil Medvedev. Medvedev managed to take a set off him but Sinner came through easily after that.

A straight-set win over Jack Draper got him to the final where he ended Fritz’s excellent run, winning 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.

Sabalenka dropped just one set in the entire tournament and that came in the third round where Ekaterina Alexandrova took the first set off her. Other than that, not too many managed to put up a fight.

What helped Sabalenka was the early loss of Iga Swiatek, who made the quarterfinals but was put to sword by Jessica Pegula. Pegula would then overcome Karolina Muchova to enter the final where she went down fighting to Sabalenka 7-5, 7-5.

What Happened in the 2023 Edition of US Open?

Novak Djokovic, who was returning to the competition after being out of action for a few years because of his anti-vaccination stance, went on to crush Daniil Medvedev in straight sets in the final to clinch his fourth title at this tournament. It was also his 24th Grand Slam win.

Top seed and defending champion Carlos Alcaraz looked to have had a straightforward run through to the semifinals but fell to Medvedev in a shock result. Djokovic was tested by Laslo Djere in the third round when he fell two sets to love behind but those turned out to be the only two sets he lost in the entire tournament.

In the women’s singles draw, a resurgent Cori Gauff lifted her maiden Grand Slam title by downing Aryna Sabalenka in a hard-fought three-setter in the final.

Gauff was helped by Jelena Ostapenko’s ouster of Iga Swiatek in the fourth round, before the American crushed Ostapenko 6-0, 6-2 in the very next round.

Sabalenka was 6-0 down in her semifinal against Madison Keys but came back to grab the next two sets in tie-breakers.

What was interesting to see was that both, in the men’s and women’s draw, the title winner was a fifth different one in as many years.

The men’s singles title was won by Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Dominic Thiem and Rafael Nadal before this Djokovic victory. The women’s singles tournament had seen Iga Swiatek, Emma Raducanu, Naomi Osaka and Bianca Andreescu as the winners preceding this Cori Gauff win.
