Washington Open Betting Tips, Picks, Predictions & Odds for the 2025 Edition

Get all the free Washington Open betting tips, predictions and picks along with their latest odds for the 2025 edition of the tournament, a men’s and women’s hardcourt competition played as one of the early tune-up ones to the US Open.

The Washington Open is one of the few joint men’s and women’s tennis tournaments on the tour, outside of the Grand Slams and both the competitions are played concurrently in the same week.

Also called the Mubadala Citi Open, both the men’s and women’s competitions are played as 500 events (ATP 500 and WTA 500 events). It is a part of the US Open Series, which constitutes other tournaments including the season’s final Grand Slam, the US Open.

It was in 2023 that the WTA competition was converted from being a 250 event to a 500 one.

Over the years, some of the best players in the tennis world have featured in this tournament. Since the 1990s, the likes of Andre Agassi, Stefan Edberg, Michael Chang, Andy Roddick, and Juan Martin del Potro have all won the title here.

In the women’s draw, Jessica Pegula and Cori Gauff have been crowned winners in the past.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the Washington Open?

The men’s singles title was won by USA’s Sebastian Korda who overcame a first set deficit to overcome the 10th seeded Flavio Cobolli in the final.

Korda won 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 to lift the trophy after defending champions Dan Evans opted to feature at the Olympics instead of Washington.

Having last won a title three years ago, in Parma, Korda overcame match-points against his third round opponent Thanasi Kokkinakis to grab the title.

Paula Badosa showed she was back to full form and fitness by bagging her fourth title at the highest level. She had earlier clinched wins at Belgrade, Indian Wells and Sydney, with the last of those having come two and a half years previously.

Badosa overcame Marie Bouzkova in a three-setter to clinch the tournament win having earlier eased past Sofia Kenin, beated Liudmila Samsonova, edged out Emma Raducanu and beaten Caroline Dolehide to make the final.

Top seeded Aryna Sabalenka made the semifinals but was downed by Marie Bouzkova.

What Happened in the 2023 Edition of the Washington Open?

Cori Gauff signalled to the world she is ready to win a Grand Slam with a solid performance in the women’s draw of the Washington Open. The American, who had a first round bye on account of being the third seed, did not drop a single set en route the title victory.

On her way to the final, Gauff overcame Hailey Baptiste, Belinda Bencic and Liudmilla Samsonova with ease. And in the title-decider, she crushed Maria Sakkari 6-2, 6-3 to grab the win. It was her fourth title at this level.

On the men’s side of things, ninth seeded Dan Evans was the surprise winner as he took down the 12th seeded Tallon Griekspoor in the final.

What was fascinating about Evans’ win was that other than his opening match that came against Gregoire Barrere, he did not drop a set.

In fact he won 10 sets in a row to lift the trophy, which included victories over Frances Tiafoe and Grigor Dimitrov on his way to the final. Top seeded Taylor Fritz made the semifinal where he lost to Griekspoor while the second seeded Tiafoe was a losing quarterfinalist.
