Get all the free WTA Charleston Open betting tips, predictions and picks along with their latest odds for the 2025 edition of the tournament which will be held in March this year.
Also called the Credit One Charleston Open for reasons associated with sponsorship, the WTA Charleston is one of the rare tournaments on the women’s circuit which is played on green clay.
What makes this tournament rather important is the fact it’s been around since 1973, making it the oldest only-women’s tennis competition in the world.
Earlier played at the Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head Island and Amelia Island off the coast of Florida, the Charleston Open was moved to its current venue of Daniel Island in 2001.
It’s played as a WTA 500 event, one of the 17 such tournaments in 2024 on the women’s tennis circuit. In 2025, there could be a change in this number but WTA Charleston will continue to remain a part of the WTA 500 series.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the Charleston Open?
In what was Danielle Collins‘ final season as a professional tennis player, she won her second title in as many weeks after having clinched the Miami Open only last week.
Collins crushed Daria Kasatkina 6-2, 6-1 in the final to lift the trophy, which was her fourth WTA title.
What was remarkable about Collins’ victory was she lost just one set in the entire tournament and even that came in the second round to defending champions Ons Jabeur. Other than that, Collins overpowered Paula Badosa 6-1, 6-4 in her opener, dropped just four games in the third round against Sloane Stephens, brushed Elise Mertens aside 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals and then sent the third seeded Maria Sakkari packing 6-3, 6-3 to make it to the final.
In winning this title, Collins joined an elite list of women to have won the tournaments in Miami and Charleston in successive weeks, with Serena Williams, Martina Hingis and Steffi Graf being the only previous women to have done so.
What Happened in the 2023 Edition of the Charleston Open?
Second seeded Ons Jabeur grabbed her maiden title of the season when she overcame Belinda Bencic, who was seeded fourth coming into the final.
Jabeur won 7-6 (6), 6-4 to pocket the fourth tournament win of her career.
While Jabeur did face challenges at various stages of this competition victory, she did not drop a single set en route her win. After a first round bye, Jabeur overcame Lesia Tsurenko in the second, overcame wildcard American Caroline Dolehide in the third, benefitted from Anna Kalinskaya’s retirement in the quarterfinals before edging out Daria Kasatkina in the semifinals.
Bencic stunned the top seeded Jessica Pegula in the last four stage, having earlier overpowered Ekaterina Alexandrova.
