First played in 1978 on the WTA Tour, the current version of the Stuttgart Open is also called the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix as a part of the organisers’ deal with their sponsors.
It was earlier hosted at Filderstadt before shifting to Stuttgart in 2005 and has now been played over a period of 46 years with the exception of 2020 when the pandemic disrupted the ATP and WTA calendars.
The oldest WTA tournament held in its continent, the Stuttgart Open has been a part of the WTA 500 series since 2021, having earlier been a WTA Premier event. Other than the prize money, the winner of this tournament also earns herself a Porsche car.

The preview to the 2025 edition of the Stuttgart Open will be updated once the draw for this competition is out. Here’s the preview to the 2024 Stuttgart Open.
Aryna Sabalenka might have shown she is capable of upsetting the Iga Swiatek apple-cart but this is clay and that makes things starkly different.
Swiatek is almost untouchable on clay and that can be seen from her overall record on this surface over the last two seasons – a whopping 37-3 win-loss.
Fans have questioned Swiatek’s form outside of clay this season but it must be quickly added that the world number one has still won 24 of the 27 matches she’s played and that has included two titles. And well, she is still the world number one.
The Polish player should not have too many difficulties getting past Elise Mertens in the second round and while Jelena Ostapenko is a former French Open winner and has troubled Swiatek, it won’t be the same on clay if they face off in the quarterfinals.
In fact, Ostapenko is 4-0 on head to head against Swiatek but none of those wins have come on red dirt.
Elena Rybakina will hope she can get some form going for herself and reach the semifinal but that’s where she will meet Swiatek.
On the other hand, Sabalenka will have a potential semifinal against Cori Gauff, who has done well on clay in the past.

WTA Stuttgart Open 2025 Details
Here’s a list of basic information you would need to know before betting on the WTA Stuttgart this year.
Venue
Having been hosted at the Tennis Sporthalle Filderstadt in Filderstadt between 1978 and 2005, the tournament was then shifted to the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart in 2006 which has played host to it since then.
The Porsche Arena is a multi-sport arena with boxing, basketball, handball and hockey all being a part of it and it can fill up to 8000 fans.

The 2024 WTA Stuttgart Open will kick-start with its qualifying rounds on Saturday, April 13 before its main draw matches that start off from Monday, April 15. The tournament will go on till Sunday, April 21 when the women’s singles and doubles final will be held.
Interestingly, unlike the previous season in which the main draw consisted of 28 players with the top four getting a bye into the second round, this year’s Stuttgart Open will have 32 women slug it out in the first round.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the Stuttgart Open?
Elena Rybakina did not face any trouble in the final of the Stuttgart Open as she ran past Marta Kostyuk to clinch her third WTA title of the season. The fourth-seeded player from Kazakhstan overcame her Ukrainian opponent 6-2, 6-2 to grab the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
Rybakina was on court for a shade over an hour to win her final.
What was even more impressive was Rybakina’s semifinal win over the top seeded Iga Swiatek, who had come into the tournament on the back of a 10-match winning run in this tournament. She had needed three sets but to overcome a player who was 10/11 to win the competition at the start of the week was no mean feat.
What Happened in the 2023 Edition of the Stuttgart Open?
Iga Swiatek won her second successive title at the Stuttgart Open as she downed Aryna Sabalenka in the final in straight sets. Sabalenka, who had reached the final in both 2021 and 2022, failed to stop the world number one with Swiatek winning 6-3, 6-4.
This win had followed Swiatek’s 6-2, 6-2 rout of Sabalenka in the previous year’s competition.
The Polish player, who had earned a first round bye coming into the tournament, routed Qinwen Zheng in the second round before Karolina Pliskova managed to take a set off her in the last eight.
Swiatek led 3-0 against Ons Jabeur in the semifinal before her Tunisian opponent retired from the encounter because of fitness concerns.
