The quarterfinal action at the 2025 WTA Rouen Open continues on Friday, April 18 as Elina Svitolina leads the charge. You can get the best predictions and tips for the day from this tournament here.
Elina Svitolina v Jessica Bouzas Maneiro
This will be the second meeting between these two players with Elina Svitolina having defeated the 73rd-ranked Jessica Bouzas Maneiro at the 2024 Cincinnati Open in their first.
Svitolina is in red-hot form in what is her first clay court competition for the season, having defeated Jil Teichmann 6-4, 6-2 in the first round and then routed Anhelina Kalinina 6-4, 6-0 in the second.
She will now be a 1/4 favourite coming into this one against Bouzas Maneiro who has shown some recent form of her own.
Following three successive defeats, she went on to make the quarterfinal of a WTA 125 event on clay in Antalya, defeated Beatriz Haddad Maia and Linda Noskova at the Billie Jean King Cup and then shocked Maria Sakkari and overcame Varvara Gracheva in the first two rounds here.
She might not have the weapons that Svitolina possesses but momentum is a funny thing and we could see Bouzas Maneiro give her opponent a run for her money here.
Svitolina v Bouzas Maneiro Tip: Bouzas Maneiro to win a set – Yes: 6/4
Olga Danilovic v Moyuka Uchijima
This will be the first meeting between the 39th-ranked Olga Danilovic and the world number 60 Moyuka Uchijima.
Danilovic is 7-0 on win-loss on clay this year which includes an Antalya Open title win on the WTA 125 circuit. Here, she has needed three sets in both her first two rounds, against Aliaksandra Krunic and Linda Fruhvirtova but that is just another indicator that Danilovic can win it the easy way or fight her way to a win.
And she might need to do that against Uchijima who is herself not one of those players who gives up that easily. Three of her previous four matches including two in this tournament, have gone into a third set and Uchijima has won them all.
She overcame Nuria Brancaccio and Lois Boisson in her first two matches and while the quality of opposition is suddenly going to rise to another level, we expect this to go to the third set again.
Danilovic v Uchijima Tip: Three sets in the match: 6/5
Suzan Lamens v Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah
World number 69 Suzan Lamens faces off against the 291st-ranked Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah in this quarterfinal, also their first ever meeting.
Playing in her first clay court tournament of the season, Lamens was forced into a final set tie-breaker by Bianca Andreescu in the first round but then routed the 2/5 favourite Linda Noskova in the second. She won 6-4, 6-1 to set up this quarterfinal against French qualifier Rakotomanga Rajaonah.
Rakotomanga Rajaonah made it through to the main draw with wins over Emily Appleton and Jessika Ponchet but in her following two, main draw matches, was a 21/10 and 5/2 underdog. She won them in straight sets, defeating Lucia Bronzetti and Jaqueline Cristian.
With an ITF final on clay under her belt this season, Rakotomanga Rajaonah will know she has a decent chance here to make the semifinals too. Or take a set off her opponent at the very least.
Lamens v Rakotomanga Rajaonah Tip: Rakotomanga Rajaonah to win a set – Yes: 4/5
