Andrey Rublev v Fabian Marozsan Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and it’s 1-1 on head to head.
They met at the 2024 Umag Open in their first meeting with Rublev needing three sets to win. More recently they were involved in a match at the Hong Kong Open, which was a season-opener for Rublev and Marozsan had surprised his opponent there with a three-set victory.
Rublev Cruises Past Zhang
Andrey Rublev’s struggles in 2025 have been well chronicled in some of these articles but to give a brief outlook, he had a 2-3 win-loss record coming into this competition.
Which is why, going up against Zhizhen Zhang, one did not quite know what to expect but the good news for Rublev was he made it through the encounter without too much trouble.
In a match that went on for an hour and 23 minutes, Rublev faced just one break-point and thwarted it while getting the better of Zhang’s serve on two occasions – once in each of the two sets.
The 2021 Rotterdam winner Rublev will now have an interesting battle against a player who kick-started these question-marks over his form. This time around Rublev will be more prepared for the surprise factor but will that be enough?

Marozsan in a Keen Tussle with Struff
Jan-Lennard Struff had entered his first round match against Fabian Marozsan as a 4/6 favourite. Marozsan, however, kept his wits about him and pulled off a win in a fighting three-setter that could have gone either ways, making the second round in the process.
In a match lasting nearly two hours, both players earned a break of serve apiece in the first two sets to push the match into the decider.
Marozsan squandered three break-points in the fifth game of the third and then saved one of his own but the highly-cagey encounter went into the match tie-breaker.
The world number 57 took the early initiative by taking a 6-1 lead and while Struff came back to save a couple of match-points, Marozsan clinched it off the third.
This follows a quarterfinal entry into the Hong Kong Open and a third round appearance at the Australian Open for Marozsan. Is he ready to battle out Rublev again?
Rublev v Marozsan Prediction
Interestingly, the bookmakers aren’t shuffling their odds too from last time when they met – Rublev is still about 3/10 to win this and we think this time around that will happen. Indoor hardcourts suit Rublev a lot better and we could see the Russian win this in two.
Rublev v Marozsan Tips
- Rublev to win: 3/10
- Rublev to win in straight sets: 17/20
