After failing to win any matches in Brisbane and Adelaide to kick off her season, Moyuka Uchijima surprised Magda Linette at the Australian Open.

Blinkova Solid in 2025
Anna Blinkova has had a middling kind of a season in which she would be moderately satisfied with the fact that she has won her first round matches at every competition but a tad underwhelmed by what’s followed.
In four of the five tournaments that Blinkova has played, she has lost her very next match – at Brisbane, Hobart, Australian Open and Cluj-Napoca, Blinkova has lost in the second round.
Only at Linz did she manage to win the next match too to make the quarterfinals where she was beaten by Clara Tauson.
