Suzan Lamens v Greet Minnen Preview
Head-to-Head: There have been no previous meetings between these two players.
Suzan Lamens is currently ranked 67th in the world and a good showing in this tournament could help her break into the top 60 for the first time in her career.
She kick-started that journey with a fighting performance in the first round as Lamens came back from behind to defeat Kamilla Rakhimova in three sets.
The Dutch player won 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a match that went on for nearly two and a half hours after she was broken a whopping six times from the 16 opportunities her opponent had.
Lamens now meets Greet Minnen who took her own time in overcoming Sijia Wei in her opener. In a match lasting over two hours, Lamens won 5-7, 6-3, 6-2 after surviving three breaks of serves.
In doing so, Minnen had won her first main draw match since January 6 this year when she had defeated Viktoriya Tomova in the Hobart opener. Can she add another one to her name here?

Caroline Dolehide v Varvara Gracheva Preview
Head-to-Head: They had faced off in the qualifiers of the Auckland Open in 2023 and it was Gracheva who had won that match.
Caroline Dolehide needed some time on court for her first round match against Anastasia Zakharova but eventually managed to win it and progress to the next stage.
This was only the third win of the season for Dolehide who had earlier kick-started her year at the Australian Open and won the first round there. It was followed by a three-set win against Daria Snigur in Cluj-Napoca before Zakharova took her to two hours and nine minutes to win it.
At 4-4 in the third set, it could have gone either way but Dolehide found a way to grab the victory.
And up against her now is Varvara Gracheva who is coming off a shock result.
Peyton Stearns is at her career-best ranking of 43rd in the world and has in general looked very much a part of some of the top level of tennis. Gracheva, on the other hand, had lost to Stearns recently in Cluj-Napoca and won just one main draw match for the season before this.
Which is why she was 19/10 odds to win going into the encounter before she crushed her American opponent 6=2, 6-3.
Dolehide could still hold a slight advantage here.
Dolehide v Gracheva prediction: 10/11
