Olga Danilovic v Viktoriya Tomova Head to Head
There have been three previous meetings between these two players including one in the qualifiers of the 2022 French Open and Danilovic leads 2-1. Both of Danilovic’s wins came on clay while Tomova won her match earlier this year in Cluj-Napoca.
Danilovic Continues to Hover Around Career-Best
Olga Danilovic was 119th in the world at the start of the 2024 season but a set of superlative performances helped her end the season ranked 51st.
These came at both, the ITF level in which she won a title and then on the WTA circuit last season where she grabbed her maiden tournament win by clinching the Guangzhou Open.
And while Danilovic did not start off too well this season with an opening loss in Hobart, she came back well at the Australian Open by pulling off a career joint-best showing in a Grand Slam.
She shocked Liudmilla Samsonova and Jessica Pegula on her way to the fourth round there.
Since then Danilovic has played just one tournament – in Cluj-Napoca – and was surprised by Tomova in the second round. This gap of over a month between that and the start of Indian Wells Open could prove to be a factor.

Tomova Came Back after Slow Start to 2025
The Australian Open swing yielded no fruit for Viktoriya Tomova. She played in three tournaments there including the season’s first major and lost in the first round at all three of them leaving her with multiple questions.
Fortunately for Tomova, she seemed to have come back well in Linz and Cluj-Napoca.
At the first, she won a round before losing to Maria Sakkari and then at the latter, Tomova overcame Mayar Sherif and shocked Danilovic in the second to enter the last eight stage. Katerina Siniakova ended her run.
Tomova comes into this one on the back of a qualifier exit in Dubai but her mood will be considerably better than earlier taking on a player whom she had beaten only last month.
Danilovic v Tomova Predictions
Danilovic might have lost her previous match to Tomova but we don’t expect lightning to strike twice and an easy win for the Serb looks to be the most likely result here.
Danilovic v Tomova Tips
- Danilovic to win in straight sets: 11/8
