Played for the first time in 2009, the Brisbane International is played on both, the men’s and the women’s circuit. The men’s draw is played as an ATP 250 event and is one of the hardcourt tournaments played in the lead-up to the first major of the year, Australian Open.
It wasn’t held between 2020 and 2023 because of a variety of reasons including the pandemic.
The ATP Brisbane International has a 32-man draw and has seen Andy Murray and Grigor Dimitrov win the title twice. Some of the other winners include Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Robin Soderling, Lleyton Hewitt, Milos Raonic and Nick Kyrgios.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the ATP Brisbane International?
In a battle between the top two seeds, Grigor Dimitrov defeated Holger Rune in the final to clinch the title. It was his ninth career title and first in seven years having last won the 2017 ATP Finals.
Dimitrov had a tough draw, needing to overcome Andy Murray in the first round which he did in three sets. This was followed by straight-set wins over Daniel Altmaier, Rinky Hijikata and Jordan Thompson before overcoming Rune 7-6 (5), 6-4.
Other than these two seeds, however, none of the other seeded players made it past the second round. In fact only one other seeded player, Ugo Humbert, made the second round with five seeds crashing out in the opener itself.
