The 2025 Indian Wells Open will see its first set of fourth round matches on Tuesday, March 11 as Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula and Stefanos Tsitsipas will be among those taking to court today.
Action at Court 1 will begin with the world number two Swiatek playing the 15th seed Czech player Karolina Muchova at 11 am local time. With Swiatek leading their head to head 3-1, it could turn out to be an uphill battle for Muchova.
At the same time, Court 2 will have surprise entrants Tallon Griekspoor and Yosuke Watanuki clashing for a rare place in the quarterfinals of an ATP 1000 event for either.
These matches will be followed by in-form, Greek number one Stefanos Tsitsipas facing the 12th seeded Holger Rune and fourth seeded Jessica Pegula taking on Elina Svitolina.
The Pegula-Svitolina match could turn out to be an interesting one with seven previous meetings between them having yielded five wins for the American.
Tsitsipas is coming off a title win in Dubai and is on a bit of a roll as he takes on Rune for a place in the quarterfinals.
Arthur Fils then faces surprise American entrant Marcos Giron in what will be the final morning session match of the day. This will be their first ever meeting.
The evening session will begin after 6 pm local time with the fifth seeded Daniil Medvedev taking on Tommy Paul, who is the 10th seed for the competition. This will be the fifth time they will be facing off with Medvedev having won on three previous occasions.
At the same time, a mouth-watering clash between Elena Rybakina and Mirra Andreeva will be held on Court 2. It’s a battle between a former Grand Slam winner who is still a top-10 player and someone who has the potential to win a major soon enough, having had a brilliant season so far already.
The singles action for the day will be rounded off on Court 1 with a match between Qinwen Zheng and Marta Kostyuk. In previous matches, the Zheng v Kostyuk head to head reads 1-1.
