Madison Keys v Belinda Bencic Head to Head
There have been four previous meetings between these two and both have won two apiece.
Keys won in their first ever meeting at the 2015 French Open before Bencic levelled things out that very year in Eastbourne. Keys then went 2-1 up in Doha in 2021 before Bencic grabbed a victory in Charleston the following year.
Their only match in a hardcourt competition was won by Keys.
Keys in a Stunning Win over Vekic
In what turned out to be a story of a comeback, Madison Keys downed the No. 19 seed Donna Vekic in a dramatic three-set encounter winning 4-6, 7-6 (7), 6-3.
Keys, who had entered the match on the back of a 14-match winning streak that had seen her win titles in Adelaide and the Australian Open, was 4-5 down in the second tie-breaker after having lost the first set.
She came back to earned three set-points, squandering two before levelling the match off the third.
In the final set, Keys got off to a quick start, breaking Vekic in the very first game and then again in the seventh game to all but wrap things up.
Keys now takes on the other player in form for the season and we could be in for a keen tussle.

Bencic Shocks Gauff
In another comeback win of the round, Belinda Bencic roared back from being a set down against Cori Gauff to clinch a place in the last eight.
Having entered the tournament ranked 58th in the world, Bencic was on court for two hours and 21 minutes to carve out a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win to enter the quarterfinal. This will be her first last-eight appearance here since 2019.
Having already sent Amanda Anisimova and Diana Shnaider packing, Bencic was 1/1 odds to overcome Gauff and she did just that with a break in each of the last two sets.
With this win, Bencic is now 17-4 on win-loss for the season and moved up to 45th on the live rankings. She has a chance of breaking into the top 40 if she can overcome her in-form opponent.
