Madison Keys v Liudmilla Samsonova Head to Head
There have been five previous meetings between these two players and Keys leads 4-1. Samsonova had won in Berlin in 2021 in what was their first ever meeting but since then Keys has beaten her opponent at Adelaide, US Open, Madrid and Strasbourg. The last two of those wins came last season.

Jelena Ostapenko put up a fight, going up to the extent of winning the first set but Keys came back in style to win the next two. And in her quarterfinals against Daria Kasatkina, Keys extended her head to head record to clinch a fairly straightforward victory.
Keys was on court for a mere 58 minutes in her 6-1, 6-3 demolition of Kasatkina as she broke her opponent four times without any in return. She also served up 11 aces with Kasatkina unable to respond to that with even one from her side.

Samsonova Gets the Better of Navarro
Emma Navarro is the new sensation, a newly-crowned top-10 player from the previous season but Liudmilla Samsonova did not have a lot of trouble taming her in their quarterfinals.
Having gone into the encounter as an 11/10 underdog, Samsonova was on court for an hour and 21 minutes to clinch a 6-4, 6-4 win.
In a match that was filled with multiple breaks of serves, Samsonova frittered away a chance to go 4-0 up in the first set as she got broken twice in response. She wrapped up the set soon after with a break.
Navarro then took a 3-1 lead in the second set but Samsonova broke back twice to seal the deal and with that a place in the semifinals.
This follows her wins over Marie Bouzkova and Belinda Bencic in the previous rounds.
