Belinda Bencic v Rebecca Sramkova Head to Head

Belinda Bencic had been off tennis and on maternity leave for the major part of the previous season and has come back reasonably well here.
She had made the final of a WTA 125 competition late last year and returned this season to exhibit her capabilities at the three tournaments she has participated in.
The former Swiss number one was 1-1 at the United Cup, qualified for the Adelaide International before making the second round and then showed what she could do in full flow at the Australian Open.
Bencic got the better of Jelena Ostapenko in the season’s first major, then eased past Suzan Lamens before capturing the first set against Naomi Osaka in the third set. Osaka was forced to retire after that.
And while Bencic fell to Cori Gauff in the fourth round, she put up a gritty showing, taking the American to the third set.
She has improved from 489th on the WTA Tour at the start of the year to her current 157th as a result.

Sramkova Sent Out by Potapova in Linz
Following a tepid start to the season, Rebecca Sramkova featured in the Linz Open last week and made the second round there.
She was sent packing there by Anastasia Potapova who had entered the match as a 11/20 favourite before taking out the Slovak in straight sets.
Earlier in the season, the world number 44 had lost her openers at both, the Brisbane International and Hobart International before finally winning her first match of 2025 at the Australian Open.
Sramkova had overturned a first set loss against Katie Volynets to register a victory but couldn’t do much against the might of Iga Swiatek in round two.
A Hua Hin Open winner last year, Sramkova will hope she can turn things around for this season.
