Olga Danilovic v Viktoriya Tomova Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players, both of which have come on clay. Danilovic leads 2-0, leaving beaten Tomova at the qualifiers in the 2022 French Open and the quarterfinals of the 2023 Bastad Open.
Danilovic Eases Past Parks
Olga Danilovic is standing on the cusp of breaking into the top 40 for the first time in her tennis career and she took a big step towards doing that by winning her opening round match here.
Having lost in the first round here in 2022 and not featured in any competitions between the end of January and the end of March 2024, Danilovic is defending no points from the previous season at the moment. Any kind of deep runs into this competitions and those to follow – especially in Indian Wells and Miami – will make a huge dent in her rankings.
And by beating Alycia Parks in the first round in a rather comfortable manner, Danilovic has already added some points to her kitty.
She won 6-3, 6-3 in an hour and 33 minutes after saving nine of the 11 break-points she faced in the encounter. This result follows a fourth round appearance at the Australian Open for Danilovic in a tournament in which she defeated Liudmilla Samsonova and Jessica Pegula.

Tomova Registers Comeback Win over Sherif
Viktoriya Tomova is ranked 63rd in the world and was facing the 65th-ranked Mayar Sherif in her opener, having won just one of her previous five matches this season.
And yet, she had gone in as a favourite.
The reason behind that was Sherif horrendous run of results on non-clay surface, which is why it would have surprised a few when Tomova fell a set behind.
It took her a further hour and a half to clinch her win, as she sealed off a 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory. Things will get a lot tougher now though given the kind of form she has herself been in as opposed to what her opponent has done.
Danilovic v Tomova Prediction
Unless something goes drastically wrong, this should be a fairly straightforward encounter for Danilovic as she looks to carve out a place in the quarterfinal in straight sets.
Danilovic v Tomova Tips
- Danilovic to win in straight sets: 10/11
