Yunchaokete Bu v Jaume Munar Head to Head
Bu and Munar have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Bu Finally Shows Signs of Return to Form
Yunchaokete Bu hadn’t had the best of starts to the season when he fell in the first round of each of the three tournaments he featured in.
At the Hong Kong Open, Bu lost to Nuno Borges in a fighting three-setter but then things went worse as he was dispatched in straight sets in Auckland by Jan-Lennard Struff.
And when, Bu was taken down in the Australian Open by Hady Habib, and in straight sets at that, questions had begun to be raised about the stuff that had gone wrong for the Chinese player.
Fortunately for Bu, he has been able to deflect some of those worries with his quarterfinal appearance at the Montpellier Open. He defeated Daniel Almaier and Constant Lestienne to get there before Felix Auger-Aliassime eased past him.
Can he now continue with that changing form as he takes to court for his opener here in Dallas?

Munar Returns after Opening Round Loss at Oz Open
Jaume Munar has typically been touted as a clay court player and for obvious reasons too – 16 of his 17 titles on the Challenger and Futures circuit have come on clay.
Which is why when Munar took on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the first match of the season in Hong Kong, he was a 21/10 underdog.
He came back from being a set down to clinch the win. Then, at 7/5 odds for his second round match against Nuno Borges, Munar grabbed a straight-set win.
In the quarterfinal, the 11/5 underdog Munar stunned Lorenzo Musetti.
While he lost to the eventual champion Alexandre Muller and then went down fighting to Casper Ruud in the Australian Open opener, Munar looks to have done enough to suggest he is much improved in hardcourt competitions too.
Bu v Munar Prediction
While Bu is an 11/20 favourite, looking at his recent time on court, we would have to say there’s not much to choose between these two players. A Munar win at 6/4 looks to be a tempting option.
