Mirra Andreeva v Rebecca Sramkova Head to Head
Andreeva and Sramkova have never faced off in a competitive match before.
Andreeva in a Comeback Win over Volynets
Mirra Andreeva entered this tournament on the back of her fourth round appearance at the Australian Open and facing Katie Volynets first up after that break could have been called a good draw.
The lack of rhythm in her game following the break showed too as Andreeva fell away in the first set and then went a break down in the second.
It was finally in the sixth game as Volynets served for a 4-2 lead that Andreeva got some of her mojo back as she broke her opponent and in the ensuing tie-breaker, ran away to a 4-1 lead before winning it 7-4.
Things settled down for the 15th-ranked player soon after as she broke Volynets in the very first game of the decider. Volynets made one final effort and got things back on level terms at 4-4 but Andreeva got the better of her serve again in the very next game to clinch the win.

Sramkova Eases Past Kalinina
Bookmakers had both Rebecca Sramkova and her first round opponent Anhelina Kalinina at 5/6 to win their first round encounter but in the end, it turned out to be a lot more one-sided match than what those odds represented.
Sramkova turned out to be a 6-2, 6-3 winner in a quick finish as she needed just 67 minutes of court time to clinch her victory.
This follows a rather underwhelming set of returns for Sramkova in the season so far after having featured in five previous tournaments and made the second round just twice.
The 2024 Hua Hin Open hasn’t yet won back to back matches this year either and facing up to the in-form world number 15 isn’t going to make that job easier anyway.
Andreeva v Sramkova Prediction
Mirra Andreeva did not have the best time on court in her opener but we can see her show some improvement in her second round encounter against Sramkova. A straight-set victory could follow.
