Daniil Medvedev v Hamad Medjedovic Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came at the 2024 Italian Open and Medvedev had been taken to three sets in that encounter before he won.
Medvedev Finally Wins Two in Two
It’s almost bizarre that we are about a month and a half into the season and it’s the first time that Daniil Medvedev has won successive matches.
That’s unfortunately how things have been for Medvedev in 2025 with the former Grand Slam winner having lost in the second round at both, the Australian Open and in Rotterdam. Those losses had come to lower-ranked players too, Learner Tien and Mattia Belluci, making matters worse.
The bit of a good news for Medvedev is that he has not only corrected that anomaly but also done that easily at that.
He had earlier started off with a second round win over Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-2, 6-4 and then pulled it through in straight sets again against Jan-Lennard Struff.
The match lasted an hour and 20 minutes and Medvedev saved all the five break-points he faced.

Medjedovic Gets the Better of Altmaier
In what turned out to be the most interesting quarterfinal of this competition, Hamad Medjedovic finally found a way to get past Daniel Altmaier and seal his place in the final four.
The match went on for two hours and 43 minutes and it Medjedovic to overcome a 1-3 deficit in the final set to win 7-5, 6-7 (7), 6-4. This was after the Serb had also missed three match-points in the second set tie-breaker.
Medjedovic, who has had Novak Djokovic in his corner since he was a kid with provisions for tennis advice and financial assistance, had won his first match at this level just two years ago.
In 2023 itself he had made his maiden semifinal at this level, having done that in Gstaad. Less than two years on, earlier this year, he broke into the top 100 after winning the Oeiras Challenger, and then shocked Holger Rune in the Davis Cup.
In this tournament, he had already overcome Raphael Collignon and Karen Khachanov before getting the better of Altmaier.
Medvedev v Medjedovic Prediction
This might not go as smoothly as Medvedev would like and while we expect him to still come through, Medjedovic could take a set off him.
Medvedev v Medjedovic Tips
