Ugo Humbert v Zizou Bergs Head to Head
Humbert and Bergs have never played each other before.
Bergs Benefits from Zhang Injury
Following on from making it to his maiden ATP final earlier this year, Zizou Bergs continued his good form as he advanced to the semi-finals of the Marseille Open.
This time around, however, he was helped by his opponent Zhizhen Zhang’s injury that forced the Chinese player to retire from the match.
The 62nd-ranked Bergs had clinched the first set 7-5 when Zhang opted out of the match because of injury.
Zhang had the early break in the opening set but Bergs retaliated back with one in the very next game, levelling things off at 2-2. Neither player got another break-point after that till 5-6 where Zhang got broken and promptly retired from the match.
This was after Bergs had eased past Clement Chidekh in the first round and had a scrappy win over Nuno Borges in the second. Can he now make it to his second career final here?

Humbert Gets Closer to Defending Title
It took Ugo Humber an hour and 39 minutes of court time but in the end he managed to win his quarterfinal against Lorenzo Sonego in straight sets.
In a cagey match that saw Humbert break Sonego once apiece in both the sets, he staved off all the three break-points he faced to enter the semifinals.
Humbert, who had defeated Hubert Hurkacz and Grigor Dimitrov last year on his way to winning this title, had a first round bye here. In the second round, he got past Alexander Bublik before this victory over Sonego.
Earlier in the season, Humbert had also reached the fourth round at the Australian Open before falling to Alexander Zverev in a fighting four-setter. Can he now add to 7-2 win-loss record for the season?
Humbert v Bergs Prediction
We think Humbert’s form look unshakeable and he looks to be built for greater things in the rest of the season. A straightforward win could be in the offing for the French 26-year-old.
Humbert v Bergs Tips
- Humbert to win in straight sets: 6/5
