Sakkari v Raducanu Head to Head
Two previous meetings between these two players, at the 2021 US Open and the 2024 Wimbledon, have both gone Raducanu’s way.
What Can Sakkari Do to Get Back to Glorious Times?
Not so long ago, Maria Sakkari was ranked third in the world.
Today she is trying her level best not to fall outside the top 30 and with wins getting lesser and lesser frequent, Sakkari is finding it difficult to stall that slide.
This season itself, Sakkari has featured in five tournaments and never has she won more than one match in any of them.
It started with Sakkari losing both her singles matches for Greece in the United Cup, losses in the qualifiers and the second round of the Adelaide International (after making it through as a lucky loser) and a first round exit at the Australian Open.
More recently in Linz and Doha, Sakkari won her openers again but lost in the second round. Clearly in a need of something special but does she have the game to overpower some of the best in the world?

Raducanu on a Four-Match Losing Streak
Emma Raducanu has earned herself another wildcard but at some point she will need to make these count.
The former US Open winner has lost four matches on the bounce so far this year after having begun her season with a bang – successive victories over Ekaterina Alexandrova and Amanda Anisimova, two players who would go on to win WTA titles in the following month or so should have given Raducanu some confidence.
Instead, her win-count for 2025 ended there.
First she was routed by Iga Swiatek 6-1, 6-0 in the third round of that tournament (Australian Open) which was almost inevitable but what’s followed would have been disappointing for the legion of her supporters.
Raducanu has already lost to Cristina Bucsa in Singapore, Marketa Vondrousova in Abu Dhabi and Ekaterina Alexandrova in Doha in back to back matches leaving her with a lot of questions.
Can she take down another player struggling for form?
Sakkari v Raducanu Prediction
This could turn out to be a keen tussle between two players struggling for form and that, by itself, could bring out the deep desire to win a round from within both. Can expect a heavy tussle that leads to a three-setter.
Sakkari v Raducanu Tips
- Three sets in the match: 5/4
