Tomas Machac v Jakub Mensik Head to Head
Machac and Mensik will be facing off for the first time.
Machac Features in UTS after Dallas Quarterfinals
It was interesting to see that Tomas Machac who is ranked 25th in the world, opted not to play in either the Qatar Open or any of the European indoor competitions after his showing at the Dallas Open.
There, he had made the quarterfinals with wins over Kei Nishikori and Rinky Hijikata before going to Denis Shapovalov.
Instead, Machac went on to feature in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown where he played four matches and won them all, about a week ago.
Earlier this year, Machac had started things off with a 2-2 record at the United Cup and then made the third round at the Australian Open where he fell to Novak Djokovic. He will hope to get the ball rolling here in Dubai before the Sunshine Masters in Indian Wells and Miami.

Mensik with a Similar Record to His Opponent
Jakub Mensik enters this tournament on the back of a 7-4 win-loss record for the season. This is exactly what Machac’s record is in 2025 making this an interesting contest.
What also makes Mensik a difficult opponent to go up against is the fact that he has been consistently winning the opening rounds at all the tournaments he’s played this year.
It started with a quarterfinal appearance at both, the Brisbane International and Auckland Open – which had Mensik defeating Ben Shelton – and a third round showing at the Australian Open too. There he overcame Casper Ruud on his way.
More recently Mensik was stopped in his tracks in the second round match at Rotterdam but it had taken Alex de Minaur to do that.
He will be a difficult opponent here.
Machac v Mensik Prediction
