Anhelina Kalinina v Daria Saville Preview
Head-to-Head: There has been one previous meeting between these two players and Kalinina had won that in the 2023 China Open.
Anhelina Kalinina took her time in her opener against Leolia Jeanjean, getting stretched to three sets before she finally came through. This was her first win after three successive defeats with Kalinina having lost in the quarterfinals of the Cluj-Napoca and the first rounds at Doha and Dubai.
Interestingly, Kalinina had kick-started the season with a semifinal appearance at the Brisbane International and then lost three in a row as well. Can she help herself to another such run when she takes on Daria Saville?
Saville’s form has dropped badly this year.
Before her first round victory here, Saville had featured in seven WTA tournaments in 2025 and had shockingly not won a single main draw match.
Which is why when she came through the qualifiers here and clinched a second round berth with a straight-set win over Marta Kostyuk, it has already become the upset of the tournament.
She is 4/3 in this one again.
Kalinina v Saville prediction: Kalinina to win: 3/5

Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro v Elina Avanesyan Preview
Head-to-Head: There have two ITF level matches played between these two, both of which have come on clay and both players have won one apiece.
Such has been Jessica Bouzas Maneiro’s form all season, it’s no surprise that she was pushed to a third set in her opening round victory over Renata Jamrichova.
Jamrichova is ranked 310th in the world and just 17 years of age, but it took Bouzas Maneiro a whopping two hours and 36 minutes to register her win. She clinched it in the end, 7-5, 5-7, 7-5.
This followed a 2-5 win-loss record for the season for Bouzas Maneiro having made the second round of just two of the five tournaments she has participated in. And that’s where Elina Avanesyan will look to take advantage of the situation.
Avanesyan is coming off a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Magdalena Frech. Frech is higher ranked than Avanesyan but has been struggling to get results in her favour.
So while Avanesyan lost the first set, she came back with a vengeance to grab the next two following her second round appearances at four other tournaments this season. This includes a third round appearance in Brisbane and a semifinal in Hobart.
Bouzas Maneiro v Avanesyan prediction: Avanesyan to win: 9/20
