Volynets Fizzles Out after Auckland
Wins over Erika Andreeva and Ann Li had had taken Katie Volynets to the quarterfinals of the Auckland Open in what was her first tournament of the season.
Since then, however, Volynets has dished out disappointing performances, one after the other and enters this tournament with just one other main draw win. That came against Sonay Kartal in Abu Dhabi.
And it’s like as Volynets has been wronged by the draw.
