Rebecca Sramkova v Lulu Sun Head to Head
This will be their second meeting with their first having come only last week in Merida where Sramkova had won easily in straight sets.
Sramkova’s Climbed to 37th in the World
A little over a year ago, Rebecca Sramkova had begun her 2024 season ranked 130th in the world. A title win at the Hua Hin Open became her maiden one and she kept improving as the season went on, ending the year on 46th.
Today, a little over two months on, Sramkova has climbed up to 37th thanks to her consistent performances throughout the year.
After making a poor start to the year as she lost back to back matches in the first round, Sramkova has made the third round of two events, in Doha and in Merida as recently as the previous week.
And while Sramkova lost to Emiliana Arango in Merida, most of her other recent losses have come at the hands of some really difficult opponents – the likes of Elena Rybakina, Clara Tauson, Belinda Bencic and Anastasia Potapova.

Sun 1-8 for the Season
Lulu Sun is desperately searching for main draw wins but they have largely been elusive.
It started with four successive defeats in the first round of competitions before Sun overcame Caroline Garcia in the Abu Dhabi opener. And that was followed by four successive defeats following that as well.
Making matters worse for Sun is the fact that over these eight defeats, she has won just two sets and none in her last six losses.
And she now faces an opponent she had faced about a week or so ago and lost to 6-3, 6-1. Surely, things won’t be getting any easier for her here.
Sramkova v Sun Predictions
Sramkova’s consistency, her recent win over Sun and her opponent’s horrid form all combine to make her a favourite here. Backing Sramkova to win this in two.
Sramkova v Sun Tips
- Sramkova to win in straight sets: 5/6
