Alexander Bublik v Yosuke Watanuki Head to Head
They have never faced off against each other.
Bublik 0-4 in Outdoor Hardcourt Matches
Alexander Bublik was once ranked 17th in the world but he didn’t have the best season in 2024 and has continued with that poor form in 2025 as well.
This year, Bublik has won just two matches spread across seven tournaments, both of which came in indoor hardcourt competitions.
Other than that, Bublik has featured in four outdoor events and has a 0-4 record there.
And while the last two of those losses have come against Andrey Rublev and Felix Auger-Aliassime, there have also been defeats to Miomir Kecmanovic, Jakub Mensik and Francisco Cerundolo.
Bublik also has a few points to defend here, having made the third round of the Indian Wells Masters last year. Can he shrug off his poor form?.

Watanuki Makes it Through the Qualifiers
Yosuke Watanuki had once made it into the top 100 of the rankings, getting to a career-best of 72nd in the world. Today, he enters this competition ranked 349th and having already caused an upset in the qualifiers.
He was drawn to play the in-form Mattia Bellucci in the first qualifier and stunned his opponent 6-1, 6-2 before making it through to the main draw.
Given what had transpired before those results, it has turned out to be a big surprise alright.
Watanuki had earlier in the season withdrawn from the Canberra Challenger because of fitness concerns and failed to qualify for the following four tournaments he took part in – falling in the qualifiers of the Australian Open and in Marseille, Doha and Dubai.
Can he now take this surprise set of wins forward and against a player who is struggling to make things happen recently?
Bublik v Watanuki Predictions
