What Happened in the 2025 Edition of the ATP Montpellier?

Felix Auger-Aliassime continued with his excellent form in the season as he won his second ATP title of 2025 after his victory at the Adelaide International just prior to the Australian Open.

The second seeded Auger-Aliassime came back from a set down to win the remaining two sets in tie-breakers against Aleksandar Kovacevic in the final. Kovacevic, who was a qualifier, became the first in the history to make it all the way to the final in this competition.

Earlier, top seeded Rublev was knocked out of the competition by Kovacevic in the semifinals. Kovacevic also defeated the defending champion Alexander Bublik in the quarterfinals.

What Happened in the 2024 Edition of the ATP Montpellier?

Alexander Bublik made it his second title in Montpellier by defeating Borna Coric in the final in a hard-fought three sette. Bublik won 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 to grab the tournament victory.

What was interesting to see was that coming into this tournament, Bublik hadn’t won a tour level match since the previous July – that’s around six months without a match win. And in his very first match here against Denis Shapovlov, Bublik faced three match-points before turning things around and winning that second round encounter 1-6, 7-6 (12), 6-3.

He followed that up with three-set wins over Alexander Shevchenko and Felix Auger-Aliassime to make it to the final. And with another match going into the third set, Bublik won the tournament after dropping a set in each of the match he played.
