Mirra Andreeva v Elina Svitolina Head to Head
Andreeva and Svitolina have never faced off before this.
Svitolina Shock for Pegula
Having made the semifinal at this tournament in 2019, Elina Svitolina will have a chance to emulate that feat after making it to the last eight with a comeback win over Jessica Pegula.
Svitolina came back from being a set down to win 12 of the last15 games in the encounter, grabbing a place in the quarterfinal 5-7, 6-1, 6-2. In doing so, she has reached this far for the first time since 2021.
Having edged out Ashlyn Krueger in the second round and then eased past Danielle Collins in the third, Svitolina shrugged off her poor head to head record against Pegula – she had lost five hardcourt matches to her – and a lengthy rain delay to clinch the victory.
The Ukrainian needed over two hours to grab the victory, having earlier begun the season as a quarterfinalist at the Australian Open as well.

Andreeva in a Huge Rout of Rybakina
When we had reckoned that Mirra Andreeva would go on to get the better of Elena Rybakina in their fourth round match, we had also thought it would be a close one.
As it turned out, Andreeva did go past Rybakina but in a manner that was hard to forecast.
In a match that went on for a mere 67 minutes, Andreeva dropped just three games. Three quick breaks of serves helped Andreeva won the opening set 6-1 and while Rybakina looked to fight back by breaking her opponent in the very first game of the second, that was about the best she could do.
Andreeva responded with two more breaks to her name and finished it off with a third break of serve, winning 6-1, 6-2.
She had earlier defeated another in-form player Clara Tauson in similar manner, dropping just three games in the encounter.

Andreeva’s excellent going makes her a red-hot favourite to challenge some of the best in the world including Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Svitolina here. Backing her for another straight-set win.
