Elina Svitolina v Anna Blinkova Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players, both of which came in 2023. Svitolina won them both – at the Strasbourg Open final that year and the French Open.
Svitolina Coming off Australian Open Quarters
Featuring in her first tournament of the season directly at the Australian Open, there were worries that Elina Svitolina might be a tad undercooked heading into the season’s opening major.
Instead, it looked like a well-rested Svitolina was able to perform to the best of her capabilities and dished out a joint career-best showing at the Australian Open by making the quarterfinals.
Svitolina, who had a first round bye here, overcame Sorana Cirstea, Caroline Dolehide, Jasmine Paolini and Veronika Kudermetova on her way to the last eight stage before losing to the eventual champion Madison Keys.
In fact she made Keys work for her win, scalping a set off her too before the American came through.
The only question-mark around Svitolina here is that her last match in an indoor hardcourt competition came in 2020. And the last time she won a match on this surface was in 2019.

Blinkova Makes it Past Kraus
Anna Blinkova is in the fourth tournament of the season and at every one of them she has managed to win her opening round encounter.
She did that in Linz by overcoming Sinja Kraus in her opener, winning 7-6 (3), 6-2 against a player ranked outside the top 200.
Before this, Blinkova had won opening round matches at the Brisbane International, Hobart International and Australian Open. defeating Sara Bejlek, Bernarda Pera and Daria Saville respectively.
Here, Blinkova was on court for an hour and 37 minutes and staved off a break of serve in each of the two sets before completing the victory.
Unlike Svitolina, Blinkova has been playing indoors over the years but doesn’t have the best of records on it either.
Svitolina v Blinkova Prediction
That Svitolina is a favourite is no surprise but the one that could bring the quality of their play closer than usual is the lack of experience for the Ukrainian player indoors. Still, we expect her to come through here.
Svitolina v Blinkova Tips
- Svitolina to win: 1/3
- Over 20.5 games in the match: 10/11
