Hubert Hurkacz v Jiri Lehecka Head to Head
Their only previous outing came at this very tournament last year and it was Hurkacz who won it but not before he was taken to three sets in which both the final two sets ended in a tie-breaker, 11-9.
Hurkacz Brushes Cobolli Aside
Hubert Hurkacz did not face any trouble in his opening round match here, defeating Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 6-2.
In just an hour and 15 minutes, Hurkacz broke Cobolli three times and saved the solitary break-point he faced to seal a place in the second round.
Having started off the season in a lukewarm fashion with a 2-3 record at the United Cup and then a second round loss at the hands of Miomir Kecmanovic at the Australian Open, Hurkacz looked to be in full flow from the get go.
And that translated into a win that took him to the round of 16 at the Rotterdam Open for the fifth time in a row in his career. How many times has Hurkacz made it to the quarterfinals here though?
Nil.
He would be hoping to change that around.

Lehecka Quells the Popyrin Challenge
With a title win at the Brisbane International and a fourth round appearance at the Australian Open under his belt, there was no doubting Jiri Lehecka’s confidence when he took to the court for his opener against Alexei Popyrin.
After all, over nine matches at the highest level this year – and 10 counting the Davis Cup – Lehecka’s only defeat had come to Novak Djokovic and you can be pardoned for that!
Lehecka was on court for an hour and 28 minutes, saved both the break-points he faced but when he got his chances he grabbed them with both hands.
This included a break-point when Popyrin served to stay in the first set at 5-6 and the two break-points he got in the second set – converting them both to win 7-5, 6-2.
He will have a good chance against Hurkacz.
Hurkacz v Lehecka Prediction
No surprises that Lehecka starts a 3/4 favourite against the way more experienced Hurkacz and we will have to go with that given his confidence and form.
Hurkacz v Lehecka Tips
- Lehecka to win: 3/4
