Katerina Siniakova v Caroline Dolehide Head to Head
Siniakova and Dolehide have never faced off in a competitive match before this.
Siniakova Wins Difficult Encounter with Jones
Despite starting a 1/3 favourite in her first round encounter against Francesca Jones, Katerina Siniakova was forced to battle hard before getting to the finish line.
In a match lasting two hours and 49 minutes, Siniakova edged out her British opponent 6-4, 6-7 (5), 6-4 to enter the second round.
Siniakova was down an early break in the opening set but came back to win it with two successive breaks of serves. In the second, the story looked to be repeating itself as Siniakova dropped serve again only to break back twice.
At 5-3, however, Siniakova failed to hold serve and the set went into a tie-breaker that Jones clinched.
The final set was filled with multiple breaks of serves, but at 4-4, a fifth break in the set helped Siniakova serve it out. This win followed a three-match losing streak for Siniakova that had seen her lose in the opening round at Adelaide, Australian Open and in Linz.

Dolehide Scrapes Past Snigur
Caroline Dolehide had kick-started her season directly with an opening round appearance at the Australian Open but after winning her opener there against Sara Bejlek, she had fallen away.
A second round loss to Elina Svitolina followed soon after before she lost her Singapore Open opener to Anna Kalinskaya.
And even here, taking on the 136th-ranked Daria Snigur, Dolehide had a struggle on her hands.
In a match lasting two hours and seven minutes, Dolehide was taken to the third set which she won 6-4. Dolehide dropped her serve five times in the encounter with Snigur even serving for the first set at one point before the American won it 7-5.
Dolehide missed a match-point on her own serve in the final set, got broken before getting the better of her opponent’s serve in the 10th game to win the encounter.
Siniakova v Dolehide Prediction
These are two players struggling for rhythm and while Siniakova starts off a 1/2 favourite, it’s hard to put her as a favourite here. The games market looks to be the more attractive one.
